Rural outdoors recreation wilderness area in Northern Arizona is a 294,000-acre monument which includes the  Paria Plateau, Vermilion Cliffs, Coyote Buttes and Paria Canyon. The Vermilion cliffs also extend into Southern Utah and are not far from Kanab, Utah. Close by is The Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park as well as GSENM, the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.

Southern Utah and Northern Arizona can be very, very remote areas and much caution should be used in planing and researching an adventure into these areas. Cell phones may not work, lots of water and provisions should be planned for. Very sandy roads could be encountered with expensive tow truck bills if required.
